(L to R) The Stoke by Nayland Resort family directors Carmella-Meyer, Robert-Rendall, Tamara-Unwin, Jonathan Loshak and Susanna Rendall

Champagne corks will be popping this year as the team and family directors at the award-winning Stoke by Nayland Resort will be celebrating a fantastic milestone - the 50th anniversary of its Golf Club.
Entrepreneurial couple, Bill and Devora Peake, created Stoke by Nayland Golf Club on their undulating arable land in 1972 as a diversification from fruit farming and their Copella fruit juice enterprise, as there was a shortage of golf courses in the region. Now run by the second and third generations of their family, the business has been impressively developed over the years, complimenting the stunning Constable Country landscape surrounding the Resort. This landscape became part of the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the 1980s, after both courses had been established.
What started as a dream has blossomed into the successful Resort we see today, boasting two spectacular, mature championship golf courses, an 80-bedroom hotel, five contemporary eco-lodges, beautiful function rooms, a fabulous Spa, Technogym, a choice of restaurants showcasing locally-sourced ingredients and suppliers, and a host of other facilities.
The Resort has also won a number of Green Awards in recognition of its environmental sustainability – all of the power required by the venue is generated from its own green energy sources.

SbN Resort will be celebrating its Golden Anniversary with an array of events, activities and offers for the local community, guests, team and members to enjoy. From gala dinners to a golf week, family fun day and 70s night, there’ll be something for everyone.
Susanna Rendall, Group MD of The Boxford Group said, “Our family is incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved over the last 50 years. My parents actually had a 50-year plan, but when they started on their journey to create one of the premier golf clubs in East Anglia, I’m sure they didn’t imagine it would become the Resort that it is today.
We couldn’t have done any of it without the invaluable support of our brilliant team, guests, local community and the members, for which we are incredibly grateful, and we’re excited to celebrate this special year with them all.”
In addition to all the festivities, and linking to its heritage, the Golf Club has created a line of limited-edition 50th Anniversary clothing and merchandise featuring the Club’s very first logo, now available from their onsite Pippin shop, as well as online.
