THE Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation has revealed its first fundraiser since the start of the pandemic.
The charity will be making a welcome return with its popular annual golf day at Benton Hall Golf and Country Club, Witham, after having to cancel last year’s event.
It will be the first event the Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation, based in West Bergholt, has been able to schedule since the Feather Ball in February 2020. Nikki Bowdidge, CEO and Founder of the Foundation, said: “The 18-hole championship golf course, set in beautiful countryside, offers a challenge for golfers of all abilities and runs alongside the River Blackwater.
“It has been such a hard year for so many people. To be able to plan to get back to some normality after everything the last year has thrown at everyone is such a relief. And what a way to get back into the swing of things! Our golf day is always such a huge event with friends, colleagues and families teaming up to tee off.
“It will be so much more amazing this year because we cannot wait to get back to seeing our fantastic supporters again.”
Sponsored by The TP Group, the Foundation’s golf day will tee off with bacon rolls, tea and coffee before a shotgun start at 10.30am. The day will finish with a two-course dinner with a raffle and prizes for the day’s competitions.
It will be held on Wednesday, October 13. Nikki added: “The good news is you still have lots of time between now and October to make up for all that lost practice over the last year.
“We’d also really like to see more ladies come and show us how it’s done this year too. We know we have a thriving ladies’ golf scene across the region and it would be amazing to welcome them on board.
“Whether you want to enjoy a much-needed day out or really want to win the cup, you’ll be having fun while raising money for young people with cancer. We can’t think of a better way of doing it.”
Tickets cost £55 each, with teams of four people, and can be bought by emailing nikkibowdidge@tombowdidgefoundation.org or by calling the Foundation on 07771646654.
Sponsorship packages for the day are also available.
