Volunteering Matters celebrates a diamond milestone at Stoke by Nayland Resort this September, and you can get involved.
In its 60th year, the UK’s leading volunteering charity, Volunteering Matters is celebrating with an invitational golf day at Stoke by Nayland Resort’s championship golf courses on the 21st of September, sponsored by Source One Consulting.
Marking another milestone, award-winning, family-owned hotel, golf and spa business Stoke by Nayland Resort is also celebrating a big occasion with the 50th anniversary of their championship golf courses. The team at the resort are delighted to be hosting this prestigious golf day as part of Volunteering Matters anniversary events, recognising the valuable work of over 10,000 volunteers supporting 22,000 people in communities across the UK through their programmes.
Peter Osborne, Commercial Director at Stoke by Nayland Resort commented on the collaboration: “It’s a fantastic year of celebrations for all involved. We are proud to have been chosen as the host venue for the Volunteering Matters invitational golf day, a cause very close to our hearts, during a special anniversary year for our business.”
In the current economic climate, volunteer projects providing vital help to communities across the UK have never been so crucial. Stephen, Director of Business Development and Impact at Volunteering Matters, speaks about the importance of volunteer projects during this time: "At Volunteering Matters we see every day the power of communities coming together through volunteering to support each other. On what is our 60th birthday, we have never been more needed. Our volunteers supported the covid response in schools and transport hubs, providing PPE to the homeless and supporting young people in care. We can only continue to support communities in Suffolk with the support of fantastic organisations ready to stand with us. We are delighted that Stoke by Nayland Golf Club, Source One and First Class Events have chosen to do so, and we look to forward to welcoming our guests to celebrate our birthday with us."
Event sponsor Source One Consulting, also celebrating an anniversary with 20 years, is one of East Anglia’s leading office design and refurbishment businesses. Pat Lewis, Chairman of Source One Consulting, added: “Being an Ambassador for Volunteering Matters, I’ve seen at close hand the impact and the importance of the projects being delivered. When Stephen Skeet (VM) approached me about this BIG Birthday Celebration, I was of course happy to be involved as an organiser and sponsor. It’s a fitting birthday, with my own business Source One celebrating its 20th year this year. I’m really hoping that we can make this a yearly event at Stoke by Nayland Resort.”
The format of the golf event, supported and run by First Class Events, is an 18-hole, 4-ball, Stableford competition with golf handicaps on an established championship course, raising vital funds to continue the great work of Volunteering Matters through their volunteer programmes.
The invitational golf day is open to all, with limited places available. Register and take part by contacting Stephen via email: stephen.skeet@volunteeringmatters.org.uk. We advise to book early to avoid disappointment.
Hole Sponsorship is available at the event for just £100, and combined with a charity raffle at the event, this will help to raise vital funds for future volunteering programmes. Please contact Simon Skeet for further information. Your support will be gratefully received.
